Few pics from Annecy. More coming soon.

Main theatre but not the most comfortable. The festival reminded me why I prefer to watch DVDs from the comfort of my home, luckily some of the screenings took place at the multiplex cinema which is equipped with Sofa sized seats.

Dang, I wish I was there! Did you go to any Pixar Ratatouille classes too?

    How were the short films?

    Cheers,
    Rok

Hey Rok, it was a mixed bag but the overall was great. We knew already some of the directors which we met at a party at the begining of the festival.

One feature that really amazed us was “Max and Co”, a stop motion feature with some great character designs. I will try to find something about it. We also met some animators who worked on it thanks to Matt Morris girlfriend.

We saw Pixar Lifted which I didn’t like too much. The character designs were quite generic or shapeless and it was more a succession of jokes than character animation acting like in Gery’s game or For the Birds which are still the best Pixar shorts to me.

Blur’s “Gentlemen’s duel” was excellent. I was looking forward to seeing it but didn’t expect all the little touches in term of story and acting.

and yes Andrew showed us some test they did with the rigs. Funny walk cycles and body mechanics with the rats.

He finished with a walkthrough of one of his shots. “Hole in the wall” as called by Brad Bird. This is where a character enters in a scene through a door or a hole … in the wall. This reminded me of your short.
